Robert Wilhite
sUAS Services Director
Robert Wilhite was born and raised in Memphis, TN but moved to Atlanta over 40 years ago. He has over six years’ experience as a commercial drone pilot which puts him at the forefront of this relatively new industry. His 30 years as a professional photographer gravitated his initial drone interests to the real estate industry, where he still holds an active license. That focus quickly shifted to the film/entertainment sector, where his first collaboration won an Emmy for Best Documentary. Over the past five years he has worked on music videos, short films, feature films, and a multi-episode cable show, and traveled half way around the globe on various drone projects.

Mr. Wilhite will spearhead the development of a new drone division while acting as Chief Pilot. His initial focus will be working in step with the Survey Division to provide survey-grade LiDAR topography deliverables. He will also be responsible for Business Development and adding new Drone Division team members.

He has been married to his beautiful bride Kelly since 2009. They have one little boy and a 7 ½ pound shih tzu/bichon mix dog. He is a very active road cyclist and advocate for the safety for the sport, loves hiking with his bride and enjoys most any activity that involves the outdoors, especially golf.

In 2010, Mr. Wilhite founded Jackson County Brevet, an annual charity cycling event in Jackson County, Georgia, to raise awareness for Aplastic Anemia (AA). The money raised at this event is the only outside funding Emory University receives for its clinical research on AA (close to $400,00 donated since inception).
